A calm place to work and think.
Most of our tools shout. They notify, upsell, rank, and nudge. They turn thinking into a feed and work into a dashboard you have to babysit. Tovel is a quiet reaction to all of that — a single, personal place for your work and your thoughts, built on a few stubborn beliefs.
Your software shouldn't be loud
Attention is the whole game. A tool that constantly interrupts you is working against the thing you opened it to do. Tovel stays calm on purpose: no noise, no manufactured urgency, no feed to scroll. It does its job and gets out of your way.
Your words are just words
Everything you write in Tovel is plain markdown. No proprietary blob, no format you can only open here. Notes link to each other with double brackets, and you can see the whole web of your thinking in a graph. Want it all on your own disk? Export your entire workspace to .md files in one click. You're never locked in — not even on the way out.
Money lives where the work happens
For the people Tovel is for, work and money are the same conversation. So the price, the billing status, the contact — they live on the task itself, not in a separate accounting tool you forget to update. A project total is simply the sum of its work. Your revenue, MRR and what's still to invoice fall out of the work you were already doing.
No AI looking over your shoulder
Tovel has no built-in AI reading your notes to learn from them or sell you something. Your private space stays private. If you want AI, you bring your own and connect it through MCP — under your keys, your choice, your control. The default is off, and that's deliberate.
Private by default
Your brain — the place you keep half-formed thoughts — is sacred and always personal. We don't track what you think about. We'd rather you pay us a fair price than become the product. That's the deal, and it keeps everyone honest.
If that sounds like your kind of tool —
Tovel is opening in stages. Leave your email and we'll let you know when you can come in.
